Minnesota Federated Humane Societies
A Minnesota Non-Profit Organization
Protecting the welfare of Minnesota animals
since 1987
What We Do:
The Minnesota Federated Humane Societies investigates reports of cruelty to animals in Minnesota. We train, certify and appoint State Humane Agents. We work closely with law enforcement agencies, county attorneys, and state and federal agencies to investigate reports of animal cruelty and neglect in all 87 Minnesota counties.

We do not operate an animal shelter, and generally do not have animals available for direct adoption. We encourage anyone wishing to adopt an animal into their family to contact one of the humane society/animal rescue group members of the Federation. Information about those societies and groups can be found on our Minnesota Humane Organizations links page. All MFHS member humane organizations pledge to follow required practices and procedures to insure animal care. To learn more about Minnesota Animal Welfare Statutes enforced by the Federation, you can review those laws on this site.
